Course Schedule 2017

 

Saturday September 2nd - Kick-off day

8.45 am - Registrations open. Please make sure you register by 9am

9:00 am - 5:30 pm - LevelUp officially starts

Kick-off day is when you'll be meeting the rest of your team for the first time. You'll also be meeting with your Product Owner to decide what problem you'll be working on for the duration of the course.

GENERAL FORMAT OF TUESDAY SESSIONS

6:00pm -  Arrival. Dinner.

6:15pm - Talk from a ThoughtWorker (not every week)

7:00pm - Team Stand Ups

7:15pm - Project time

8:45pm - Team Retros

* Please try not to arrive before 5:45, as you may not be allowed into the office.

 

Tuesday September 5th

6:00 - 9:00 pm

Developers will be guided through setting up their dev machines and have workshops on TDD and pair programming.

BA's and XD's will elaborate user stories and wireframes they started during the kick-off day.

 

Tuesday September 12th

6:00 - 9:00 pm

Each team should have finished analysing some user stories ready for developers to start implementing. This is where teams start to follow a typical agile development routine.

 

Tuesday September 19th

6:00 - 9:00 pm

Everyone will be given an introduction to Experience Design.

Teams continue to work with their product owner to generate and refine user stories and working software.

 

Tuesday September 26th

6:00 - 9:00 pm

All teams have an Agile 101 workshop and continue working on stories.

Teams continue to work with their product owner to generate and refine user stories and working software.

 

Tuesday October 3rd

6:00 - 9:00 pm

A member of the ThoughtWorks recruitment team will give an overview of the grad recruitment process and explain what it's like to work at ThoughtWorks.

Teams continue to work with their product owner to generate and refine user stories and working software.

 

Tuesday October 10th

6:00 - 9:00 pm

Teams continue to work with their product owner to generate and refine user stories and working software.

 

Saturday October 14th - Showcase day

9:00 am - 5:30 pm

This is effectively a double session. By this point you should only need minimal input from the trainers and is an opportunity to finish any work in progress and prepare a final team presentation.

9 am - 3:30 pm - Project time (developers will mostly be finishing stories whilst XDs and BAs work on the showcase presentation).

3:30 pm - Team presentations

4:15 pm - Course Wrap up

5:00 pm - Drinks and socialising.

6:00 pm - Doors close.
